Originally a hunting lodge frequented by the royalty of Mewar, Shikarabadi, is set
amidst the serene, wooded Aravalis. Though only 15 minutes from Udaipur,
this getaway is so peaceful that leaving the clamor of city life behind
becomes easiest thing to do, after relaxing in one of its lakeside chalets.
The resort has stud farm, and horseback excursions into the hilly wilderness
to spot the occasional deer, antelope, wild boar or nilgai, are an interesting
pastime. The resort also offers campsite accommodation with 9 thoughtfully
furnished tents for our adventurous visitors and an opportunity for polo
for the more sporty guests.
Known for its traditional Mewari cuisine, the hotel's restaurants are popular
even with the locals. The open-air restaurant, Risala, overlooking the
distant Sajjangarh Fort has a campfire and bar-be-cue going in the evenings.
Also at your disposal at Shikarbadi are the horses at the Imperial Stud Farm. We can organise anything for you, from a simple riding lesson to a safari through the Aravalis. You can even try your hand at the pursuit of kings: Polo.
